Do: - use a damp mop to clean your floor regularly with a solution of water with a pH neutral detergent.
Note: Just water is not enough; it won’t cut through dirt and will leave streaks.
- use proper mats if the floor is in a foyer or any other room with direct access to the outside.
- occasionally scrub grout to remove dirt build-up.
Don’t: - mop your floor using a solution of water with commercial detergents if their label does not specify that they are safe on natural granite, marble, limestone, and slate.
- use a solution of water with vinegar (that would be one of the most devastating things that could happen to your stone).
Remember that floors are sensitive to abrasion and dulling if not maintained as directed.
